The first confirmed report of the seventh month came from Oreti Beach, New Zealand, on the evening of Tuesday, September 23rd, followed by Queensland, Australia, and additional locations westward. For Israel-based observers, the renewed moon was reported in Gilo, Jerusalem on Tuesday evening, September 23rd at the end of the 30th day there.

8th Month

The following renewed moon crescent is expected to begin the 8th month month of the year. Sighting reports are first expected in the area of Madagascar on Wednesday evening, October 22nd. Israel-based observers will have difficulty seeing the moon this same evening and will require perfect atmospheric conditions, and is more likely it will not be seen in Israel until the following evening, Thursday, October 23rd.
