The first report for the 13th new moon of the year came from the region of Norfolk, Virginia on Wednesday evening, March 9th followed by Blacksburg, Virginia and points westward. For Israel-based observers, the 13th new moon was not sighted until Thursday evening, March 10th in the area of Jerusalem by Keith Johnson and confirmed in Jerusalem by Nehemia Gordon.

Reports for the following renewed moon crescent will begin the 1st month of aviv barley. Initial reports of the next crescent are expected in the area of the Solomon Islands north of Australia on Friday evening, April 8th. Israel-based observers should also see the crescent this same evening.
