CURRENT MOON

"...at the beginning of your renewed moons*, you shall blow the trumpets" - Numbers 10:10
*Orig. month; "New moon" & "month" are cognates of Hebrew word Chodesh or Hadesekem (Strong's 2320) derived from Chadash (Strong's 2318) meaning "renew"

The twelfth new moon crescent of the Aviv year was first confirmed in Morocco at the northwest corner of Africa on Friday evening, January 31st followed by points westward. No reports were given from Israel due to cloud cover. For those strictly using Israel observations (and points east of Morocco), your month begins Saturday evening, February 1st.

...The Next Expected Crescent Moon Sighting & Aviv Search (13th or 1st Month):

The search for Aviv barley will begin in the Promised Land to determine whether the next new moon crescent, first expected on Saturday evening, March 1st, in the United States (with Hawaii having the best views) will be the 13th month or the 1st month of the new year. Observation from Israel will not have reports until the following evening, March 2nd. Aviv reports are not expected until the next new moon on the evening of March 31st (click for latest reports from Karaite Korner and Abib of God organizations).

Expected Observation Dates of Biblical Festivals 2014:
All dates may vary based upon actual visual confirmation/trumpet call of the new crescent moon & availability of Aviv barley within the region of the Promised Land

For 2014, the Aviv barley searches in the Fertile Crescent region will begin prior to the New Moon expected on March 1st. It is expected that Aviv barley will not be found and that a 13th month will be proclaimed. This would place the first day of the Aviv New Moon in late March (which is expected on the evening of March 31st starting in Israel). Therefore, the expected Annual Festival Dates will be as follows (all days begin at sundown the evening before date posted):

^ - Regions east of Israel will observe the following date (based on global trumpet call)
# Based on barley within Promised Land (Israel) region
* High Day of Convocation (no regular work)

It would then be assumed that the Seventh New Moon of 2014 will first be seen in Australia on Thursday evening, September 25th, marking the arrival of the Fall Festivals on the following dates for all locations worldwide excluding Israel which is expected to have a one-day delay for those following a restricted observation (all days begin at sundown the evening before date posted):

^ - Dates based on a global trumpet call (Israel-based observers will keep the following date)
* High Day of Convocation (no regular work)

Stay tuned for Aviv reports in 2014 for any confirmations/reports.

If you would like to provide future reports, I welcome anyone to serve as witnesses to the sighting of the new moon crescent by submitting your sighting via e-mail. Together, as Yah's people, we can all be of one accord with the blowing of a trumpet to communicate to all of His people when the new moon has occurred (Numbers 10:10). We also attempt to post our own sightings and in a timely manner.
