CURRENT MOON

The eighth new moon was expected in South Africa on Thursday evening, October 27th, but was under cloud cover. First sighting reports, however, are currently coming from the West Indies and thoughout the United States. For those that keep an Israel-based observation, the new moon is expected Friday evening, October 28th.

Next Crescent Moon (9th Month):

The following month's crescent will be the ninth crescent and is expected to first be seen by the naked eye on dry land Saturday evening, November 26th in nearly all geographical locations, including Israel (see Previous Day map for possible sightings via mechanical aid).

Biblical Festival Dates 2012:

Next year, the barley harvest reports from the Fertile Crescent region around Israel will be considered at the end of the 12th month with the new moon expected on the evening of March 23, 2012 (starting in Israel eastward). The Abib harvest is expected at this time with no need for an additional 13th month (which would begin 4/22 in nearly all regions worldwide). This likely places the Festival Dates as follows (all dates listed begin at sundown the evening before):

The Seventh New Moon of 2012, based on the above Abib date, will have a slight possibility of being seen in the southern portion of South America (Chile) on the evening of September 16, 2012. The United States and most of the Americas and points eastward would then keep this date based on a Global Trumpet call should they be made from Chile. If the moon is not seen, then all regions - including Israel - should observe a new moon the following evening (all dates listed begin at sundown the evening before):

* High-Day (Sabbath)

If you would like to provide future reports, I welcome anyone to serve as witnesses to the sighting of the new moon crescent by submitting your sighting via e-mail. Together, as Yah's people, we can all be of one accord with the blowing of a trumpet to communicate to all of His people when the new moon has occurred (Numbers 10:10). We also attempt to post our own sightings and in a timely manner.
